London-based Mineral Artist Karina Eibatova (b. 1988)

Karina Eibatova is certainly a cosmopolitan artist. Born in St. Petersburg, Russia, her love of art became evident in childhood when she was always drawing something. She later studied classical art, photography, and video in her home city and then went farther afield in her education to some of Europe's best art schools: Akademie der Bildenden Künste (Academy of Fine Arts), Vienna, Austria; Central St. Martins, University of the Arts, London, England; Gerlesborgsskolan Fine Art School, Gerlesborg, Sweden; and the Institute of Contemporary Arts, Moscow, Russia. In addition to her paintings, Eibatova does calligraphy and typography, using lettering and its fonts as art. Her paintings have been exhibited worldwide, including in Austria, Germany, Russia (the July 2010 biennial show titled “Qui Vive?” in Moscow), China, Japan, Italy, and the United States. In addition, she has worked with musicians to help create videos, her other great inspiration, and has been involved in creating covers for albums, CDs, and concert posters.

Susan Robinson is a freelance artist specializing in painting mineral and gem specimens as well as birds and wildlife.
