Pyromorphites from the Bou Iboulkhir Mine, Moulay Bouazza, Morocco

Morocco is a well-known mineral paradise. Because of its complex geological history, the whole country is rich in mineral deposits and important mineral occurrences. Almost every year new localities are discovered or old ones rediscovered. A recent example of the latter are the “new” pyromorphites from Bou Ibloulkhir, located on the top of a 900–meter-high hill, 2 kilometers east of the town of Moulay Bouazza, Khenifra Province, Meknès-Tafilalet region, Morocco.

Tomasz Praszkier, a geologist, is the author of numerous articles, a mineral magazine editor, a world geo-traveler, an explorer, and a mineral collector and dealer.
