The Geoscience Museum, Of the Council for Geoscience, Pretoria, South Africa

The Geoscience Museum of the Council for Geoscience (formerly the Geological Survey of South Africa) has a longstanding history—the earliest specimen in the collection dates back to well over one hundred years ago. The museum holds the national collection of minerals, gemstones, rocks, and meteorites with more than nine thousand specimens on display. Additionally, the Council for Geoscience has a large fossil collection with a focus on Paleozoic and Mesozoic reptilian and mammal-like reptilian Karoo specimens.

Ellen de Kock is the scientific officer of the Council for Geoscience in Pretoria, South Africa.
