ARIZONA INFORMATION SOURCES

Arizona Geological Survey (AZGS): For more than one hundred years, the AZGS has provided the public with geologic and natural hazard products. Besides technical reports and geologic maps, their Map and Bookstore carries all two-thousand-plus U.S. Geological Survey topographic maps of Arizona, as well as hundreds of natural history and popular geology books, trail maps, and field guides. They are located at 416 W. Congress in downtown Tucson (85701) with free parking provided in the State Complex lot. Open Monday through Friday; 520/770-3500; www.azgs.az.gov.

Dr. Karen Wenrich worked as a research scientist for the U.S. Geological Survey for twenty-two years and served as a senior uranium geologist for the International Atomic Energy Agency for three years where she was a co-recipient of the 2005 Nobel Peace Prize.
