Colorado Artist, William Henry Hutchinson (b. 1958)

William Hutchinson is a self-taught artist who has just begun portraying minerals and Colorado mining scenes in his art. He has shown his paintings at the Colorado Mineral and Fossil Show in the room of Self-A-Ware Minerals (2009); at the Denver Gem and Mineral Show (2009, 2010); and at the Creede Symposium (2010) at Creede, Colorado. He prefers using watercolors and states: “I began painting in November of 2008 when I received some paints for my birthday. I tried a few landscapes and felt comfortable enough to try some mineral paintings … I have kept it up as a part-time hobby.”

Susan Robinson is a freelance artist specializing in painting mineral and gem specimens as well as birds and wildlife.
