British Mineral Artist Jason Lynton (b. 1969)

Although Jason Lynton was born in England, he studied art and design at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. A decade later, in 1995, he returned to England and focused on computer graphics and graphic design, learning to use Photoshop, QuarkXPress, and Adobe Illustrator, at the City of Bristol College, Bristol. Lynton next worked for various agencies in Bristol as a freelance graphic artist and illustrator, but after 2003 he pursued a fine art career in illustration so he could create “the art of his choice.” After trying oils and acrylics, this artist found his comfort zone working with Derwent Studio colored pencils and Letraset professional markers. He states that “the ability to create a universe full of fictional characters tailored to the way you want them to be is something truly exciting and … something worth pursuing.”

Susan Robinson is a freelance artist specializing in painting mineral and gem specimens as well as birds and wildlife.
