In 1960 a cowboy found a number of odd round rocks lying on the ground on Trinidad Carrillo's Mesteño Ranch in Chihuahua, Mexico. Little did he know that he had just discovered one of the world's greatest geode deposits.

Gemstone Deposits in Turkey

Despite having significant gemstone deposits, Turkey is not known as a producer of gemstones. In this article, we summarize six deposits: diaspore, fire opal, blue chalcedony, amethyst, smoky quartz, and agate.
