Collector's Note: Gold Nugget Update

Lest we become too focused on crystallized gold, two notable events involving gold nuggets have taken place recently. A major gold nugget, thought to be the second largest discovered in Colombia, was sold at the 2008 Denver Gem and Mineral Show by longtime gold dealer Steve Rice of Colorado Nuggets, Evergreen, Colorado. The 116- ounce nugget(!) was found in September 2003 by a miner at the Yagua mine, Department of Guainia in eastern Colombia.
