The opening of Tellus: Northwest Georgia Science Museum on 12 January 2009 marked the culmination of several years of inspiring vision, collaborative design and construction, and feverishly paced exhibit installation efforts. Supporters of the earth sciences, from the casual mineral and fossil enthusiast and technology buff to the serious scientist, will be pleased to find more than enough exhibits and activities of interest to occupy not just hours but several days, thus inviting many return visits to this spacious 120,000-square-foot facility.
