Washington Mineral Artist

Lew Landers
(b. 1940)

Lew Landers is a man of many interests, including art, music, books, glass working, and mineralogy.
Let’s begin with his art, since that is the focus of this article. Landers states that “my first art interest was hot glass, which I have been working with for about twelve years. I specialize in sculpture and paperweights with emphasis on the abstract.” Lately, these efforts have expanded to include soapstone carving, again in abstract form..
Susan Robinson is a freelance artist specializing in painting mineral and gem specimens as well as birds and wildlife.
